6 WAYS SOCIAL MEDIA CAN NEGATIVELY AFFECT YOUR VIEW ON YOURSELF AND PEOPLE

(WARNING: MIGHT BE TRIGGERING TO SOME PEOPLE). Social media is often loved by many people, but is it really as great as you think? Learn about the 6 WAYS SOCIAL MEDIA CAN NEGATIVELY AFFECT YOUR VIEW ON YOURSELF AND PEOPLE here and I listed them in no particular order.

1. Social media allows you to connect with more people online, but you may start feeling lonely if you don’t connect with people in real life more.

Communicating with people on social media may fill your loneliness, but that’s usually only temporary. Soon enough, you probably will want to get more close with this person in real life. Often, that can be hard to do so because of many miles between the two of you and not having enough money to go where they are. Or you maybe too afraid of the risks on meeting with people in real life you first met online.

2. It can be easy to confuse digital intimacy with real intimacy in social media.

Sexting is commonly used in social media to feel like you’re closer with the person you are communicating with online. People who are just figuring things out may confuse digital intimacy with real intimicay which can cause embarrassment and confusion in the long run.

3. You might get lured to meet someone in real life when you’ve only chatted with them on social media.

People tend to lie about who they are on social media since it’s easier to hide who they truly are online. You may eventually get lured to meet them in real life, but from getting raped to getting brutally murdered it’s best to take precautions first.

4. Social media can give you unrealistic expectations in relationships.

People usually post photos with their significant other on social media, in which they both look content. This can heighten people’s expectations in their relationships which may cause problems for themselves and their partner. People who are single may have unrealistic goals and expectations going into a relationship. Also, young people who are single may feel the need to rush into a relationship instead of truly appreciating what they already have and their partner. They may even be in such a rush that they don’t quite look into their potential partner’s personality much which can lead to a very bad relationship.

5. Social media can introduce you to many different people. This may contribute to comparing yourself to people on social media negatively.

People all over the world often post pictures of themselves on social media and may even become famous because of them. Many of the people who become famous on social media are models. This can lead to people comparing themselves to these people and make it a goal to look like them. This often heightens people’s standards on beauty instead of truly being appreciative of any great qualities they may already have. Some people may not know that people often photoshop pictures of themselves which can give someone almost impossibly high standards. Many people even develop disorders such as anorexia to achieve their goals.

6. You are more likely to become a victim of bullying because of cyber bullying.

Bullying is already a large problem in society and as far as I know, 44,193 Americans die by suicide every year and suicide is the 10th cause of death in the US. Many of whom decided to kill themselves because of bullying. Even cyber bullying can lead someone to become suicidal. People also often self-harm due to bullying.

3 BEST SITES FOR EMOTIONAL SUPPORT

Sometimes leaning on people for support is alright. Providing support for others not only can make people feel better about themselves, but you too will probably feel great about yourself for doing good deeds. Because of these reasons, I made a personally chosen list of the 3 BEST SITES FOR EMOTIONAL SUPPORT. This list is no particular order because it depends on which site you think best suits you.

1. https://www.7cups.com/member/

7 Cups is filled with many group support chat rooms to choose from. Moderators are often present in these chat rooms to make sure the topic stays at bay. You can also optionally chat privately with trained members, but I often found the waiting period to chat with these people takes quite a bit of time. Basically, there are definitely many positions in this site where you can listen to others problems. These positions require you to signup though unlike where you get help as a guest. Guests have pretty limited options though. You even have the chance to chat with a licensed therapist which they think suits you best based on your needs. This site also goes one step further by proving steps to your personal growth. These steps mostly only involve breathing techniques to help you relax though. Even so, it’s a great way to help you meditate. All in all, even if you find people in this site not offering much help at all then you can simply mute them so you can at least give this site a second chance for help. Remember, suicidal and homicidal people are not welcome in this site though because those are recommended more serious help.

2. http://blahtherapy.com

This site offers a very quick way to chat with someone who listens to you comes more often than not. And if you’re in the helping mood then you can be the listener instead. You can even chat with a licensed therapist if they feel your needs qualify for it. If you do, you can chat with a licensed therapist for free for a week, but then you have to pay. Yet, the pay should be affordable. In most of this site, you’ll remain completely anonymous so there’s not much of taking a while to signup or login at all to get help as quick as possible! Suicidal and homicidal people are not recommended this site at all though.

3. https://childline.org.uk

Professional help on MANY different issues you’re facing is offered in this site. You can play games which are aimed for a younger audience to hopefully, bring joy to their lives. People on this site will also be provided a phone number you can call or text. You can also chat online with them. You may even remain completely anonymous. But remember, each licensed therapist on this site should write down notes on the information you provide to them to help improve you each time you chat with them. You can chat with one specific licensed therapist or many different licensed therapists at different times. All in all, as great as this site seems, only young people in the UK have access to it.

7 REASONS WHY I HATE LIVING IN MEXICO

I’ve lived in Mexico for quite a few years so I have been through different experiences here which I wish someone had told me about because knowing beforehand could of came in handy. Luckily, I organized a list for you of the 7 REASONS WHY I HATE LIVING IN MEXICO in no particular order. This list can help you if you’re deciding on living in or visting Mexico or not. Or maybe you simply want to understand why so many people here are desperate enough to illegally cross the border to enter the USA to try to get a better life.

1. Climate.

It can get hot and humid here. Don’t get me wrong, it can get very chilly here too. There’s also normally very heavy thunderstorms here. Quite a bit of change in weather around here so it’s pretty unpredictable.

2. Bugs and insects.

Due to the climate in Mexico, many bugs and insects reside here. Some maybe something you’ve never seen before and know about. From large spiders to some odd wasps you haven’t seen before. Others that most know are common such as scorpions, ticks, black widows, earwigs, cockroaches, bees and flies. One less common in Mexico, but more known are brown recluses.

3. Usually, high crime rates.

Mexico doesn’t stress laws enough. You see, it’s common to get confused at night as to whether you heard a firecracker or a gunshot. Seeing lots of drunk people and smokers at night is also very common as Mexico is known for constantly having fiestas AKA parties which also means lots of noise normally too. Even underage drinking and smoking is very common due to most stores not caring if someone underage buys these sorts of things. It’s also common for children to vandalize others properties. Going on moving vehicles can get troublesome too as people usually don’t bother to put on their seatbelts or rather ride on the back of a pickup truck which can get dangerous. Another very bad thing that most people know about Mexico is the reputation of Mexican Mafias around here, but they’re normally no threat as long as you don’t mess with their business with illegal drugs. If you do, you probably will get tortured and maybe even killed. Hitman in Mexico are less commonly talked about, but they are normally here too. Many rich people send them here to kill those who have been messing with their businesses.

4. Police and the army.

It’s common to see the SWAT team and army troopers in Mexico due to the usually high crime levels here. Police usually don’t actually jail real bad criminals here for that much time at all though, some work, huh? They usually beat the heck out of them for a day and then release them. They much rather take the innocent people away to shoot and kill them. This causes many people in Mexico much distress and some parents don’t even feel comfortable with letting their children go outside without them. Crossing the border of Mexico is another issue that is normally very nerve-wrecking as police are known to commit various crimes there even if you are legal such as getting shot for no good reason or raped by them.

5. Many conservatives.

Even though Mexico has more liberals now than before it still carries many conservatives. You’re very likely to be scolded or given mean, disgusted glares if you do something like kiss someone on the lips of the same sex.

6. Doctors.

Doctors usually make you way worse than how you came in. Most of their prescriptions and recommendations don’t work at all or they give you medications that are not appropriate for your age. As for their tools, they are normally not sanitary at all. You probably won’t just be very physically hurt though, but usually traumatized too. Even deaths are common due to doctor’s lack of good work. That’s when you realize those horror stories about doctors can come true. This applies to all sorts of different doctors such as dentists, surgeons and ect. This is normally due to wanting to get you worse so you can come back for a fixable solution to get more money from you. Sometimes it’s due to a not very good education in the subject. They still get payed a great amount of money though. The most decent doctors to find around here are usually not very bright, but not that bad either.

7. Driving can be troublesome.

It can get difficult to drive due to very bumpy roads normally. Also, you probably will have to drive around large crowds of people. Another troublesome thing about driving is that you might have to try to avoid horses, cows, dogs and ect. crossing the roads. Drunk people driving and lousy driving is also very common.

Overall, Mexico isn’t that bad compared to a few other countries, but Mexico is definitely not my favorite country so I hope to have that chance of being able to move back to the USA.

Dear Alcohol

Dear alcohol,

Why must have you taken members of my family from me? You make them act pretty differently and not in a very good way. Especially my dad who you seem to keep taking more and more of everyday. He gets way more mad when he drinks a lot of you so he doesn’t hesitate to hurt me and my family anymore. Even when we do nothing wrong he still hurts us. I learned to take his constant belittling eventually though or else he’ll hurt me more. Sometimes I think I deserve his punishments though. After all, he seems to usually only drink you at every mistake I make. It’s probably to forget I was ever born. I don’t blame him though because I wish I never existed either. He seems to love you much more than me and family. At least, that’s what he tells me. I understand that too. I remember when he loved us more when I was much younger. I even remember being upset when he left for work, but now I’m honestly a bit afraid of him when he drinks you. I think I’m more afraid for him getting hurt because of you than me and my family. I mean, I remember him drinking alcohol then going for a drive when my mom and him fought. I also remember when I woke up early in the morning due to my dad screaming out in pain. My mom had to call 911 because my dad usually never likes to show his pain so it must have been serious. Turns out he had uclers on his gallbladder and a swollen gallbladder so surgeons had to surgically remove his gallbladder. This happened to my dad because of you, alcohol. I remember being upset and worried about him for many days until he felt much better. One of my classmates asked me what was wrong since I looked down those days, but I refused to make them worry too. My sister never cared much about my dad though, but my mom was so worried that she was crying. I remember many times I tried to cheer her up because of my dad. At least my dad changed his opinion on you for a bit, alcohol. It’s a shame that this didn’t last for very long and his addiction to you actually got way worse. My sister then decided to lead the same path as my dad of alcohol addiction. My mom will wail and go out on the streets at midnight searching for my sister when she is drunk at times. People make fun of us because of my sister’s antics. They say it’s our fault she’s like this. That we could of done something to stop her, but it’s pretty hard to do that as she’ll still go outside and drink under lock and key. I still think it’s ALL of my fault she drinks you. Why must I be such an embarrassment!? I completely understand why my family tells me this. For that reason, it makes sense they take out their anger about family problems on me. I still tried talking to my dad and sister about you though. I tried changing their minds, but they didn’t listen. I forgive my dad and my sister of their alcohol addiction though because I know it’s hard to get rid of. I don’t forgive you though alcohol.
